2026 Enrolments

On time enrolments for 2026 three-year-old and four-year-old kinder are still being accepted and will be offered in order of receipt where places remain available.  Both three-year-old and four-year-old kinder will be 15 hours per week in 2026.

Pre-prep rollout

As a part of the State Government’s Best Start, Best Life Reform, 4-year-old kindergarten will begin to increase from the currently funded 15 hours to 30 hours of pre-prep by 2036.

2026 Priority Pre-Prep Children

An exception to this timeframe will commence for specific children from 2026. The State Government is funding increased access to at least 16 hours, and up to 25 funded hours of kindergarten statewide to the following children:

  • those who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • those from a refugee or asylum seeker background
  • those who have had contact with Child Protection.

2027 Enrolments 

2027 enrolments will open on 1 May, 2026.  Please keep check of this webpage for further information.  Please do not complete the online registration link located on these webpages as this is for 2026 enrolment only.

Benefits

Kindergarten programs are delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher. They are designed to improve your child’s development in:

  • social skills, like how to play with other children in a calm, sharing and rewarding way
  • self-awareness and respect for others
  • emotional skills, for example understanding their feelings
  • language, literacy and numeracy skills, such as reading stories and counting objects
  • a joy for learning and group activities, such as talking, drawing and making things together with other children their own age
