Important information
- Refunds are only made into a bank account. Refunds are not paid by cash or to credit/debit cards.
- Refunds are only considered if your rates account has a credit balance. Payments made in advance (instalments or full rates before the due date) are not refundable.
- You must provide evidence of the payment, unless:
- The credit is from a Pension Rebate, or
- The payment was made through a Council direct debit and is being refunded to the same account.
- Acceptable evidence includes:
- Australia Post or Council receipt; or
Bank statement; or - Credit card statement.
- Australia Post or Council receipt; or
- Please allow up to 20 business days to receive your refund.
- For company-owned properties, a copy of the top of the company’s bank statement must be supplied, showing the account name and account details match the company name.
If you have over paid your rates we can arrange for a refund of the monies paid.
We can arrange the value:
- to be paid into a chosen bank account by completing the form below; or
- transferred to another Latrobe City Council Account
