Media Release

Latrobe City Council three and four-year-old kindergarten enrolments for 2025 will open on Wednesday 1 May 2024.

If your child turns three or four-year-old before 30 April 2025 they can enrol in kindergarten.

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe encourages families to enrol their children in kindergarten when they are eligible, to access the many benefits available to them.

“Attending kindergarten has many benefits for your children, helping to improve social skills, language development, emotional skills, as well as literacy and numeracy skills,” said the Mayor.

“Parents and families will also benefit from their children attending kindergarten, as it provides the opportunity to meet other families, make connections within the community, and can provide access to other community services.”

“Council offers many wonderful kindergarten facilities, run by friendly and experienced staff. Come along to see the facilities on May 7

The Victorian State Government also announced that from 2023 both three-year-old and four-year-old programs will be free* and therefore there will be no cost to families. Council will be offering 5 hours per week for three-year-old kinder, and 15 hours per week for four-year-old kinder.
