Signs of the Times
Despite the steep learning curve imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Morwell-based signwriting company Young Signs has been able to reopen and ramp up its business quickly. The local sign specialist shop, which manufactures 90 percent of its signs in-store, covers everything from basic safety signs to new shop fronts, light boxes, 3D lettering and digital printing.
Like so many enterprises, when the pandemic first hit Young Signs was forced to close its doors for a short period and manage its severely depleted workload via email and phone, while staff went on leave. Managing the health and safety of staff through such a difficult period was priority for the family-owned business of some 40 years.
More recently Young Signs has been back doing what it does best, and work has picked up with local businesses needing to implement new signage on their floors and windows. Owners Dean and Danny Young welcomed the opportunity to support other businesses in the region who have experienced similar challenges. ‘All of this has been a huge learning curve for us and we have had to look at different ways to run this business, so it has been an interesting time,’ they said.
