Councils most valuable and important trees enhance the character and amenity value of our Urban and Rural areas.
Council has previous endorsed a Significant Tree Register for trees directly under Council control under Council managed lands.
Council would like to further identify valuable and important Significant trees and extend this register to include trees located within private properties located within the Latrobe City municipality.
This register aims to provides opportunity for the community and its members to become actively involved in identifying Significant trees within Latrobe City Council municipality. Thereby improving community participation within our community in relation to our environment. The Significant Tree Register will also promote and provide opportunity for further learnings about some of the Shire’s cultural and significant history.
Trees can be deemed Significant through age, size and rarity of plantings or association with historical events.
If you think a tree should be recognised as one of the most valuable and important trees within Latrobe City, Nominations can be made through the below form.
If the tree/s are situated within a private property other than your own. The nomination should include written support from the property owner, if possible.
