This project is the last remaining site being delivered by Latrobe City Council on behalf of the Victorian Government through the Regional Car Parks Fund (RCPF) which is set to deliver 900 new spaces across Traralgon, Morwell and Moe. More Free Public Parking in the Heart of Morwell
Latrobe City Council is transforming the existing western end car park at 141 Commercial Road into a new double-storey public car park.
Key features and benefits include:
- an attractive, light-filled double-storey design
- minimum of 120 additional spaces to current capacity with approximately 300 free public spaces total
- increased number of accessible parking bays within the car park
- improved pedestrian connection through to surrounding businesses and civic precinct
- architectural façade treatment and landscaping integrated with the surrounding public realm.
- lighting, car parking technology and signage, wayfinding throughout the facility.
When Will it Happen?
Construction is expected to start in late October 2026 and be completed by mid-2027.
