Notification of Street Tree and Power Line Pruning Maintenance

Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2026

Latrobe City Council will be undertaking tree and vegetation pruning within residential streets of Moe and Newborough (Blocks 1, 2 and 3) as part of its annual power line clearance program.

Works are scheduled to commence on 7 September 2026 and will continue throughout these areas for several weeks.

Moe/Newborough – Blocks 1, 2 and 3

Pruning works will be undertaken across residential streets within these designated areas.

Why are these works required?
The vegetation maintenance program is undertaken to ensure Latrobe City Council complies with the Electricity Safety (Electric Line Clearance) Regulations 2026 and helps maintain safe clearances between vegetation and power lines.

Street tree pruning is a legislative requirement. All works will be undertaken in accordance with best-practice Arboricultural methods and Australian Standard AS 4373-2007 – Pruning of Amenity Trees.

Traffic impacts

  • Temporary traffic management and minor delays may occur while works are underway. 
  • Council thanks residents and road users for their patience and cooperation while these essential maintenance works are completed.
