Latrobe City Council has adopted its 2026/27 Budget at its most recent Council meeting.

The Budget presents a balanced cash budget position, placing Council in a strong financial position to support the priorities outlined in the Council Plan and Community Vision 2025–2029, ensuring Council can continue delivering services while investing in projects and facilities that benefit the community.

A total capital works program of $90.4 million has been allocated, including $71.9 million for new projects in 2026/27 and $18.5 million for continuing projects.

Major capital works projects include:

•    A multi-use pavilion at Gaskin Park, Churchill
•    Community facility upgrades and playground renewals across the municipality
•    Preschool renewals at Boolarra and Glengarry
•    Public hall renewal works at Newborough and Churchill
•    Resurfacing of the Joe Carmody Athletics Track

The Budget also includes funding for a range of services and programs that support local communities, including:

•    $3.8 million for road maintenance
•    $7.8 million for the presentation and upkeep of public spaces
•    $1.5 million for the Community Grants Program

In addition, the 2026/27 Budget provides for the introduction of a Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) kerbside collection service and reducing waste to landfill.
