Glass Recycling
Following an extensive community consultation process, with almost 2000 survey responses received, Council has decided to NOT introduce a separate kerbside glass recycling bin service at this time. The current mixed recycling service will continue, with a glass recycling drop-off services at local transfer stations to be introduced from 1 July 2027.
Budget
Council has adopted the 2026/27 Budget, which includes $90.4 million for the Capital Works Program. Thank you to everyone who contributed their input via the two community engagement processes. Council received 149 submissions which has helped ensure the budget reflects community priorities and aspirations.
CFA
At the March 2026 Council meeting, Council gave notice of its intention to enter into long-term lease agreements with the Country Fire Authority (CFA) at five locations in Latrobe City.
Following a community consultation process, Council has determined to grant long-term lease agreements to the CFA for the following sites:
- 78 Main Road, Tyers
- Boolarra South-Mirboo N Road, Mirboo (Boolarra South)
- 438 Old Callignee Road, Callignee
- 1 Keith Morgan Drive, Traralgon South
- Warren Terrace Reserve, Warren Terrace, Hazelwood North
