Victory Park Precinct Master Plan

Council endorsed the Victory Park Precinct Master Plan which encompasses restoration and new activations for Victory Park, Newman Park, Doorty Park and Bert Thomson Reserve. The motion endorsed by Council removed the northern part of the water play area.

The draft plan was open for community consultation for seven weeks in mid-2025 with feedback resulting in several changes to the final plan. The final plan will soon be published on Council’s website.

Live4Life

Council will become the lead agency of the Live4Life program in Latrobe City. This will include the appointment of a Live4Life Coordinator from July 2026 to December 2027, the exploration of alternative funding sources to support ongoing delivery and an in-kind administration support of one day per week.

Community Outreach

Council endorsed the inclusion of the CBD Outreach Program within Council’s State Election ‘Community Safety’ Advocacy Priority. This means that Council will advocate for funding from the state and federal governments so that the program can be delivered locally.

The CBD Outreach Program is currently delivered in areas of Melbourne and sees ‘community connectors’ positioned at train stations to help vulnerable people by connecting them with support services.

Waste –to-Energy Submission

Council unanimously endorsed the submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Development and Expansion of Waste-to-Energy Infrastructure in Victoria.

The inquiry will inform future policy settings across waste management, circular economy outcomes and infrastructure planning. This directly impacts Latrobe City’s waste management, landfill capacity and economic diversification.
