Inspect and provide advice with respect to vehicle crossing enquiries within 5 working days.
Inspect and approve or advise on vehicle crossing pre-pours within 2 working days of booking.
Process asset protection permit applications within 5 working days.
Conduct final inspections for asset protection permits once Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Final Inspection are issued and are received by Asset Protection within 5 working days.

Dumped Rubbish Removal

Assess permits to burn within 10 working days.
Inspect properties with extreme risk fire hazards within 10 working days during fire danger periods.
Inspect for long grass requests during fire danger periods within 15 working days.
Events
Process community event permit applications and notify applicants of approval or requirements within 5 working days of receiving all necessary information.

Family Services

On-time preschool enrolment registrations will receive a placement outcome within 60 days.
Late enrolments will be advised of a placement outcome within 10 working days.
Freedom of Information (FOI)
Acknowledge or request clarification or fee payment (if a FOI request is not valid) within 21 days of receiving the application.
Make a decision on a FOI request within 30 days of receiving a valid application.
If third-party consultation is required, an additional 15 days may be added.

Provide clear information and guidelines about available Council grants and eligibility criteria.
Acknowledge receipt of grant applications within 1 working day.
Community Grants – Notify applicants of outcomes within 90 working days of the closing date.
Community Essentials Quick Response Grant – Notify applicants of outcomes within 60 working days of the closing date.

Investigate public health nuisances that do not pose an immediate risk within 2 working days.
Collect discarded syringes on Council land within 1 working day during daylight hours, where it is safe to do so.
Investigate dumped asbestos within 1 working day.
Investigate gastroenteritis outbreak (two or more people with the same illness) notifications on the same day.
Investigate food poisoning notifications on the same day.

Initiate investigation into complaints of dog attacks within 4 hours of receiving report (depending on severity).
Collect contained or secured animals on the same day of notification.
Local Laws – Compliance
Investigate unregistered or abandoned vehicles on public land within 3 working days of receiving a request.
Investigate parking-related concerns within 3 working days of receiving a request.
Conduct internal reviews of infringements within 90 days of receiving a request.
Investigate and respond to long grass complaints within 5 working days (outside of the fire danger period).

Planning

We will undertake initial assessments and request any required further information on your standard planning permit application within 28 calendar days of formal lodgement.
We will undertake initial assessments and request any required further information on your VicSmart planning permit application within 5 business days of formal lodgement.
We will issue referrals to statutory referral authorities within 7 days of formal lodgement of your planning permit application.
We will refer subdivision applications for certification to external referral authorities within 7 days of formal lodgement.
