Named after Barbara Allpress who died at the young age of 33 in 1969 when her children were still in scouts. Her husband approached the State Electricity Commission and organised the purchase of land and donated it to the Newborough Scouts in memory of Barbara. 

Newborough Olympic Park was named when the Olympic Pool was constructed following the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956. Completed by the end of 1960. 

Named in honour of William Hugh Corrigan, Foundation member and first president of the Newborough United Soccer Club. His active participation in all aspects of the Club’s activities resulted in a Life Membership. 

Named after W H Burrage Junior who was a member of an early pioneering farming family. W H Burrage Junior was secretary of the Moe Water Trust and Sewerage Authority from its inception in 1935 till 1966.

He was very civic minded and served on the Yallourn Medical & Hospital Society, was involved in the establishment of the Moe Fire Brigade in 1935, President and Life Member of the Moe Chamber of Commerce, member of the Moe Progress Association and secretary Back to Moe Celebrations 1938. Died 1977

Newborough Bob Whitford Cycling Track Named after Bob Whitford in 2006, a highly regarded local cyclist who was most active in cycling in the 1940s and 1950s, participating in long distance events such as the Melbourne to Warrnambool race in 1950 in which he came 2nd.

Well known locally for his endeavours to raise funds for and advise on the creation of a cycling track in the Moe area. A Life Member of the Moe Cycling Club. 

Named after Joe Carmody who is a Life Member of Athletics Victoria and was a successful athletics coach who lived in Newborough.
