Georgia comes to the Moe Library to attend the Moe Peer Action Group. The group, supported by VALID (Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability) is a way of bringing together community members with a disability. Meetings focus on advocacy and support for people, advice and information and working through NDIS plans with a view to improving work opportunities. Georgia has found the meetings helpful and has made friends.
“I have met new people and I now have the confidence to speak up,” she says.
Her new-found confidence is also down to the fact that she has found work, at both the Salvation Army and Frame by Frame, both in Moe.
Georgia says she is keen to “share my experience” with new people at the group.
