Maria loves to come to the Morwell Library because of its open door inclusivity. There’s always a pleasant surprise with activities and concert and the chance of meeting new and like-minded people. She also says staff members often go over and above her expectations, adding a personal touch to their interactions.
“I played in an ensemble and was looking for a particular music from China which the library team found for me and it made me feel important and welcome.”
After some challenges in her life, Maria has come to think of the Morwell Library as a place that “saved her life”. The simple offer from a librarian to find some meditation tapes meant she was able to practise some mindfulness and self-care and find the peace she had been missing. It was life-changing. “I stopped being frightened and started thinking again.”
