Try our Zinio eMagazine collection to download or read online family history magazines like 'Who do you think you are?" and "Your Family Tree". You can also borrow traditionally printed Family History magazines, available at all Latrobe Libraries.

AncestryLibrary & FindMyPast
You can access AncestryLibrary and FindMyPast for free onsite at any Latrobe City Libraries branch. Using these databases, you can unlock your family story with sources like censuses, vital records, immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, directories, photos, maps, and more.

As part of our 'Beginning Family History' program, staff have developed a guide to some of the more useful online family history websites for Australian's tracing their family history.
CD-ROMs, Microfiche and books
We have resources available at all branches for people researching their family history. These records focus on Victorian and Australian research, and features extensive coverage of the Victorian birth, death and marriage records (BDMs) on CD-ROMs. Many of these records are also found in AncestryLibrary and FindMyPast.
Some of the Victorian records held by the library include:
- Birth indexes 1837-1920
- Marriage indexes 1837-1942
- Death index 1837-1985
- Electoral Rolls for 1856, 1898, 1903, 1908, 1912
- Inquests index
- Shipping records
- Cemetery records
- Gippsland newspapers on microfilm

There are also some very useful research guides within the book collection ranging from hints for the beginner, detailed advice on research in various countries of the world, to armchair research using the internet.
