Latrobe City Council Remembers
Twelve months ago, the most unimaginable tragedy struck our community. A bushfire of ferocious intensity tore across our beautiful landscape, destroying almost everything in its path.
For some families, homes were lost and for many a lifetime of precious treasures were turned to ash. However, nothing would shock this community more than the loss of life. For on that day, eleven vibrant, dynamic and much loved members of our community died.
Today on the one year anniversary of the Black Saturday bushfires we remember those beloved family members who are no longer with us. We remember the joy they bought to their families, friends and colleagues. The love they shared and the kindness and compassion that they so often epitomised.
