We care deeply about accessibility and we’ve designed our site under principles of inclusive design, to conform to W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. These international guidelines explain how to make websites more accessible to people with disabilities, and we believe they also help make our website easier to use for everyone.

Some of the W3C's WCAG 2.0 features are in the process of being implemented throughout this site including the replacement of PDF documents into more accessible formats where possible.

Our to-do list of issues:

We’re still ironing out the kinks of our website, and there are a few areas we know need improvement. As a heads up, these may cause access issues (but we’re working on it!):

  1. We are tweaking some of the pages to ensure there are no tables used in the layout
  2. We are working on making the forms throughout our site keyboard-navigable
  3. We are investigating how we can make the Council Agendas and Minutes more user friendly
  4. We are working towards having all our documents available online in both word and pdf versions

This is current as of April 2014.

PDF Downloads

We have attempted to keep PDF downloads to a minimum, however there are certain instances where PDF's are necessary. We have used Adobe Acrobat Version 7 for our PDF's and you can download Adobe Reader
