Latrobe City Council seek goods and services according to the Procurement Policy which is reviewed annually.
The two ways we seek to procure goods or services: quotes or tenders. According to the anticipated spend, dictates the amount of quotes to source:
- Council Officers seek quotes for goods or services that do not require a public tender process
- For spends greater than $250K (including GST) a public tender process is required.
The communities expectations of the services we provide are high. Therefore it is important all suppliers, contractors and consultants have the same level of quality assurance as we do.
For tenders, there’re strict rules which Council Officers must follow, these rules are stated within the Procurement Policy and within the tender documentation. In most instances tenders are advertised publicly in the local newspaper and a national newspaper and the e tendering portal.
We only accept electronic tenders via the online e-tendering portal. Not complying can jeopardise your chances of being awarded the contract. Please read the tender documentation carefully and allow plenty of time to complete and submit the submission by the closing date and time.
Once the quote or tender has been accepted a purchase order or contract is prepared and provided to the successful Contractor. During the term of the Purchase Order or the Contract, if something changes and the Purchase Order or the Contract needs to be altered, the nominated Council Officer or Contract Manager is to be notified in the first instance.
