Shadow-play & Drama workshop for Ages 9 to 12.
Friday 5 July, 2024 | 10am | Town Hall Theatre
Do you like making up crazy, imaginative stories? Do you sometimes feel super shy and then suddenly super brave? Do you like to solve problems working as part of a team? Then this is the holiday workshop for you.
Following up on GPAC’s ‘Fractured Fairytales’ workshop, Em Chandler (story-teller extraordinaire) and Ant Crowley (assisting on piano), invite you to join them in making up wild, weird, magical stories, and then perform them using shadows made with everyday objects. We will also use our voices, our bodies, cardboard and especially our brains. Oh, and if you are a little scared of the dark, just let us know. We don’t have to turn off ALL the lights.
Some children have big imaginations but are shy when it comes to performing. Shadow-play is wonderful for children of all abilities, because it allows them to perform a story – out of sight! This In turn helps them to develop confidence and try things they may not have tried before.
“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere”. —Albert Einstein
