Family Day Care

Latrobe City Family Day Care is a high quality early learning and care service for children from six weeks to 12 years of age provided from the educator's home.

Family Day Care offers the flexibility and warmth of a home environment with the consistency of one educator to provide the care and learning suitable to your child’s needs.

This service is managed and operated by the Family Day Care coordination team. They are the first point of contact for advice and information or to enrol your child. 

Enrol your child

Phone the Family Day Care Coordination Team on 1300 367 700 to arrange an appointment to enrol your child.

Appointments are available at Latrobe City Council service centres in Traralgon, Morwell and Moe.


Standard hours 

8am-6pm , weekdays $7.50, per child, per hour

Administration levy $0.90 per child, per hour 

Outside standard hours 

6pm-8am, weekdays $8, per child, per hour

Public holidays 

$10.50, per child, per hour

If a Public Holiday falls on a booked care day, and your child does not attend, the standard rate of a $7.30 per hour will apply.


Per family, per trip $0.95 per 1 km

  • Dinner $4
  • Snacks $2

Child Care Benefit

Parents/Guardians may be eligible to receive Child Care Benefit, which will reduce the cost of your Family Day Care. The percentage of the benefit will vary according to personal circumstances.  Contact the Family Assistance Office (FAO) on 136 150, or visit a Centrelink Office to apply or for mor information. You will need our Family Day Care Provider Number  555 003 774X to apply.

Please ensure that you apply for your CCB prior to your child commencing care.



Parent/Guardians will be charged 100% of their fee for all absences. Child Care Benefit can be claimed for 42 allowable absences. Absences in excess of 42 require supporting documentation.

Booking changes

Parent/Guardians are required to notify care providers of any changes to their booking. Failure to do so may incur a penalty of $10.00. Child Care Benefit will not apply.

No Jab No Play

The Victorian Government’s 'No Jab, No Play' immunisation legislation came into effect on 1 January 2016.

If you are enrolling your child in early childhood education and care services you now need to ensure they are up to date with their vaccinations or have an approved exemption. This includes long day care, kindergarten, occasional care and family day care.
