Latrobe City Council will begin reconstruction works on Bank Street in Traralgon, starting Monday 20 July 2026.
As part of the works, a section of Bank Street between the Princes Highway and west of McNulty Drive will be closed in both directions. Traffic will be required to use alternative routes while the closure is in place.
The road closure is expected to remain in place for approximately three months, subject to weather conditions.
The works will involve road reconstruction to address ageing and damaged road pavement and upgrade existing road assets.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Suggested alternative routes include travelling along the Princes Highway when approaching Traralgon and using the railway underpass to travel in the desired direction. Road signage will be in place to assist drivers in navigating alternative routes.
These works are not related to the traffic signal installation project at the Bank Street and Princes Highway intersection, which is being managed by the Department of Transport and Planning and any updates regarding signal activation should be obtained from the department.
Below is a map showing the road detour signs that will be in place and alternative routes to travel.
