Latrobe City Australia Day Awards 2027

Nominations are now open for the Latrobe City Australia Day Awards 2027. Award categories include:

  • Citizen of the Year  
  • Senior Citizen of the Year  
  • Young Citizen of the Year  
  • Community Event of the Year  
  • Community Service of the Year 

Nomination details 

These awards pay tribute to local individuals and groups that have made an outstanding contribution to the community.  

Any individual or organisation can make a nomination and all eligible nominees are acknowledged. Latrobe City Council administers the Australia Day Awards on behalf of the National Australia Day Council of Victoria.  

Eligibility criteria 

  • All nominees must be Australian citizens. 
  • All nominees for Latrobe City Council’s Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year must be a resident of Latrobe City. 
  • All nominated services or events for the Community Service of the Year and Community Event of the Year must have been provided or held within Latrobe City. 
  • Community events must have been held during the period of October 2025 to August 2026. 
  • Only one person, service or event may be nominated per nomination form. 
  • No self-nominations are accepted. 
  • A nominee may be excluded where Council believes their conduct has brought or could bring Council into disrepute.
