Council Meetings

Council meetings occur generally on the first Monday of the month at 6pm in the Nambur Wariga Meeting Room, Corporate Headquarters, Morwell. Council meetings are open to our community to attend (except when required to be closed to discuss confidential items).

Council Meetings During COVID-19 Pandemic

In response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the State government has recently introduced temporary measures that allow for virtual Council meetings to be conducted.  The change to legislation ensures the safe continuation of local government decision making for both Councillors and the community.

In light of this, for the foreseeable future, Council will hold virtual Council meetings.

The community is at the forefront of our decisions.  As such we have implemented additional means to enable public participation whilst adhering to the advice of health and government agencies relating to COVID-19.  These details can be found in the ‘Get involved’ section.

The Council meeting will continue to be live streamed and can be viewed by following the link on Council’s website or Facebook page.

Get involved

The safety of our community is at the forefront of our decisions therefore we have decided to hold virtual Council meetings. To meet our legislated obligations and in the spirit of open, accessible and transparent governance, the Council meeting is livestreamed and can be viewed by following the link on Council’s website or Facebook page.

Please note in response to the requirements for holding virtual meetings, we have implemented changes to our processes that facilitate public participation.

Should you have any particular needs or requirements to be involved, our Governance team is here to help you and can be contacted via email egovernance@latrobe.vic.gov.au or on 1300 367 700 before 12 noon on the day of the meeting.

Our community is invited to participate at a Council meeting through the following options.

Please be aware that by attending an Ordinary Council Meeting via an audio-visual link those present will be recorded or their image captured.  Where participating in the meeting, consent is automatically given for those participating to being recorded and having images captured.
