All Latrobe City Council Leisure Centres have been temporarily closed as of midday Monday 23 March 2020.
This closure is in line with advice from Federal and State governments as they try to assist in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus within the community through the implementation of further widespread restrictions on social gatherings.
Premiers and Chief Ministers agreed to implement, through state and territory laws, new Stage 1 restrictions on social gatherings, to be reviewed on a monthly basis. Australians should expect these measures to be in place for at least six months.
Among the list of facilities which are restricted from opening are gyms and indoor sporting venues.
This announcement will see the temporary closure of:
- Latrobe Leisure Moe Newborough
- Latrobe Leisure Morwell
- Latrobe Leisure Churchill
- Traralgon Sports Stadium
- Gippsland Regional Cricket Centre
These closures will be in place from midday Monday 23 March 2020 until Monday 13 April 2020, but may be subject to change based on the advice of government.
The health and safety of our community, visitors and staff continues to be our priority.
Member Fees and Payments
All members should note that direct debits will be suspended this month, with a credit being applied for monies previously paid in advance. This credit will apply for use when Leisure services recommence. Due to the current circumstances, please be advised that no additional fees will be incurred.
We understand that the closure of our facilities will be met with disappointment from our members and key user groups. Keeping healthy and active is imperative during this time and it is for this reason that our staff are exploring other ways in which we can deliver our Leisure services.
We remain committed to providing regular updates to our members and patrons and will communicate any changes as they come to hand. Please check our social media platforms and website for further updates on how Latrobe City is supporting you.
