Computers and WiFi
We offer free computer and internet access at all Latrobe City Libraries. You will pay for any printing or to purchase USBs and head phones.
You need to have a valid library membership and agree to accept our Public Access Computer Guidelines to use these services.
How to book a computer
Bookings are required to use the Library's computers. You are able to book a computer in person, over the phone to a specific branch, or at any of the public access catalogues in the libraries. Bookings can be made up to a week in advance. A member may hold only one booking per day.
You are able to book a computer in thirty minute or one hour blocks. Software installed includes selected office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
How long does the booking last
You have ten minutes in which to log onto your computer from the time it is booked. If you do not log in within 10 minutes of your scheduled booking time, your booking will automatically be cancelled.
You can bring your own laptop or iPad and connect to our free wifi service during library opening hours. You will need to ask staff for a user name and PIN to connect to wifi. There is currently no printing available through the wifi system
Library staff may not be trained or experienced in all services and programs available. We may be able to provide basic assistance and help in troubleshooting problems but cannot provide one-to-one tuition in the use of the computer, your laptop or the internet.
