Young Writers Workshop (aged 10+): Writing Like a Wild Thing with Scot Gardner

Scot will discuss with the students the idea of using personal narrative (our own stories) as a springboard into gripping fiction. Using the telling of real-life stories and brief timed-writing exercises, Scot will guide the students in the artful use of detail, showing emotion (rather than telling) and subduing the influences of their own internal editor to create strong personal voices on the page.

This tour is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and presented in association with Latrobe City Council, Writers Victoria and Gippsland Writers Group Members $80; non-members $130  Tickets must be booked and paid for here.

Workshop: Why is the character like this? with Alice Robinson

Alice Robinson shares the one question she believes every aspect of writing comes back to: “Why is the character like this?” In this workshop, she explores why this is the only question we need to ask and answer when we write fiction.
