WRITERS WORKSHOPS

FREE EVENT
Friday 25 May, Moe Library: 4pm to 6pm

Young Writers Workshop (aged 10+): Writing Like a Wild Thing with Scot Gardner

Scot will discuss with the students the idea of using personal narrative (our own stories) as a springboard into gripping fiction. Using the telling of real-life stories and brief timed-writing exercises, Scot will guide the students in the artful use of detail, showing emotion (rather than telling) and subduing the influences of their own internal editor to create strong personal voices on the page.

Saturday 26 May, Moe Library: 10am to 4pm

Workshop: Writing for Real with Demet Divaroren

Memories are the footprints of our past and hold the answers to our present. This workshop is an interactive and supportive space that will explore the elements of memoir writing, how to turn memories into stories, finding your story’s shape, voice and purpose and the elements of story that will help bring your memoir to life.

This tour is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and presented in association with Latrobe City Council, Writers Victoria and Gippsland Writers Group Members $80; non-members $130  Tickets must be booked and paid for here.
