The family fun day attracts local people and travellers who stop and spend an hour or two enjoying the activities and provides a great focal point for all of the helpers to meet, and join together in community spirit. All money raised on the fun day is donated to the Good Friday Appeal in aid of the Royal Children's Hospital. The Royal Exchange Hotel opens at 12 noon and $1 from each meal sold on Good Friday is also donated to the appeal. Activities include music by Thomas Family Band, BBQ by the REH Cork Club, local fire brigade displays, fishing game, caricature artist Tony Bramwell, plaster fun and painting, jumping castles, Animals on the Move, LV Street Machiners Car display, ten pin bowling, face painting, airbrush tattoos, spinning wheel raffles, limousine rides, horse drawn carriage rides, fairy floss, popcorn, Dutch pancakes, xpresso coffee, exotic candy and much more.
