Council has released a draft revision of Latrobe City Council policy on sealing unsealed roads in rural areas. The policy covers a number of aspects including a cost sharing arrangement, and a methodology to determine a priority listing if a number of requests are received at a given time. It is important to understand that a relatively long lead time (12 months minimum) is required to consider applications due to funding considerations, consultation processes and the preparation of Special Charge Schemes if a majority of owners agree to contribute to the cost of the works in accordance with the policy provisions.
The policy is available for public comment until 5 pm Monday 24 November 2008.
