Latrobe City Bicycle Plan 2007 - 2010

Latrobe City is pleased to release the new Latrobe City Bicycle Plan 2007 – 2010. This Plan identifies new priorities for further cycling facilities across Latrobe City.

The Latrobe City Bicycle Plan 2007 – 2010 identifies projects that will benefit cyclists and the broader community by offering improved transport, lifestyle and recreation choices. This Plan builds on the previous 1998 Bicycle Plan, and is a result of community consultation to identify the needs and aspirations that will drive Council’s four-year program of delivering improved cycling facilities. The Plan’s identified projects include creating new bike paths, sealing road shoulders, improving bicycle signage and building new infrastructure, such as bike racks.

In response to community feedback, the Plan identifies both projects to link major townships and projects to improve bicycle facilities within the individual townships of: Moe/Newborough, Morwell, Traralgon, Churchill, Yallourn North, Tyers, Glengarry, Toongabbie, Boolarra, Yinnar and Traralgon South. The Plan identifies a number of projects which Council will consider either directly funding, or funding in partnership with other organisations. The maps in this document identify the future projects that will be the focus of Council’s efforts throughout the next four years, and highlight the priority projects that will be undertaken within the next 12 months.
