Latrobe City Preschool Service is partially funded by the State Government and is staffed by qualified early childhood teachers. Children attend 10 hours of preschool per week.
Preschool helps to build confidence and social skills and provides an opportunity for each child to develop in a safe and nurturing environment.
Children's knowledge and experiences will be increased as they participate in the many and varied activities. All children are encouraged to enrol into the preschool program and develop to their full potential through the early childhood teacher's careful planning of the preschool program.
To be eligible for preschool, children must be four (4) years of age before April 30 in the year of attendance.
Latrobe City Council operates a central enrolment scheme. Vacancies are still currently available in all townships.
The enrolment form allows applicants the opportunity to state the order of preference of particular preschools. Late enrolments will be offered in order of receipt of application. Please view the Preschool Enrolment Procedure Guide, for more information.
For a complete preschool enrolment package to be sent out to you or for further information regarding preschool enrolments, please contact Latrobe City Council.
Preschool enrolments are currently open and any enrolments we receive now will be classed as a late enrolment. Those received late will be offered in accordance with the Enrolment Procedure.
Please see 2010 Preschool Enrolment Procedure, below, for more information.
Preschool enrolments are still open for 2009.
