Mandatory building inspections must be carried out on building permits at various stages of the construction. These will be indicated on your permit and the inspections will include:
· Foundation inspection (includes trenches, stump holes and pre-slab);
· Steel reinforcement of insitu concrete members (prior to pouring):
· Frame inspections: and
· Final inspections.
The mandatory building inspection must be organised through the building surveyor who has issued your building permit. That person is also responsible for the issue of you occupancy permit or certificate of final inspection. Should you have a building permit that does not have a final certificate issued, please contact your building surveyor so that an inspection can be carried out and the permit finalised.
For existing building permits issued by Latrobe City Council please call the Building Services Team and book your inspection at least 24 hours before it is required. A certificate of final inspection or occupancy permit will be issued on satisfactory completion of the works.
