Building File Information

Council has plans of many of the buildings in Latrobe City.

If you are planning alterations or extensions to your home it may assist you to have a copy of the original drawings of your building.   If you would like a copy of your building plans, building permit, occupancy permit or certificate of final inspection, please complete the 'Request for Building File Information' form and submit at either Latrobe City's headquarters office in Morwell or service centres in Moe and Traralgon.   There is a non refundable search fee for this service payable when the request is made and your request will be processed and the documents requested forwarded to you in a timely manner.

Whilst Latrobe City holds many building records, not all records are able to be located particularly older building works and those in outlying areas.   For information on a property which you do not own, written consent of the owner or their agent is necessary before any information can be released.

Enquiries may also be made under Regulation 326 of the Building Regulations 2006 for information on permits, certificates, statements, notices, orders, designation and determinations of the land and mandatory inspection approval dates.  Solicitors, conveyancers, building surveyors, developers and builders should complete and submit the Request for Building Approval Particulars form and indicate the information required.   Please submit a current copy of the certificate of title and the appropriate payment with the request.
