Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is organised through Latrobe City's Community Support team. The service is provided to citizens who because of frailty, disability or illness are unable to provide a meal for themselves and so may not be getting the nutrition they require.

Citizens who are aged or who have a disability, may request an assessment for the Meals on Wheels service by phoning Latrobe City, or they may be referred by their doctor or one of the service agencies.

  • Volunteers deliver nutritious meals to the citizens' homes, based on dietary restrictions and limitations
  • Except for weekends, three course meals are delivered daily
  • Frozen meals can be arranged for weekends
  • Meals on Wheels is available to elderly and frail aged people, people with disabilities, the chronically ill and those convalescing
  • Each citizen is assessed on individual needs
  • There is a minimal cost for meals, which is subsidised by Latrobe City and the Department of Human Services

Accounts for services are furnished to citizens on a monthly basis and can be paid in person at any Latrobe City Service Centre, or posted to PO Box 264, Morwell 3840.

In the Moe/Newborough area, the Meals on Wheels Service is provided by Moe Meals on Wheels Inc. This service is also organised by phoning Latrobe City on 1300 367 700.
