Tarwin Pop-up Park is a community space is an easy and fun way for people to be more active on a daily basis.
Located on the Commercial Road end of Tarwin Street in Morwell, the public plaza features synthetic grass, temporary landscaping, tables and seating, shade sail and umbrellas, and a space for fun physical activity opportunities for all ages.
The pop-up park is part of a broader community activation that aims to:
- encourage our community to be more active by providing a welcoming space and fun engaging activities
- promote opportunities for Latrobe City residents to engage with each other in a social setting
- breathe new life into underutilised CBD space
To allow everyone to take advantage of the upcoming spring and summer season, Latrobe City Council has extended the Tarwin Street pop-up park project until 31 March 2017.
The pop-up park is supported by VicHealth.
Expression of Interest: Brainstorming Group
We are keen to hear great ideas from community members, traders, groups and organisations to support the Tarwin Park in being a community led space. Feedback has identified support for more activities, with greater use of the park as a community gathering place. We can catch-up as a group to explore your ideas and to make things happen.
If you would like to contribute in any way please complete the expression of interest and return by 16 December 2016.
