Library membership is free. Your library card is your key to the resources available at Latrobe City Library. Anyone, any age, from baby to centenarian, can join the library.
People under 16 need the signature of their parent or guardian.
All you need is to visit the library with 2 pieces of written identification, one which shows your current home address.
As a member, you can borrow up to 12 items at any one time.
You can borrow at and return items to any branch of the Latrobe City Library Service with loan periods as follows :
Please return materials as soon as you have finished with them as others may be waiting to use them. Since you are the only one who can use your library card, you are responsible for the timely return of items borrowed.
You can return books to any branch of the Latrobe City Library.
At Moe, Morwell and Traralgon, the items will be checked off your library record immediately.
Because Churchill branch is on a different computer system, it may take several days for your borrowing account to be updated. This delay will stretch during school holidays when Churchill Library is closed.
All branches have after-hours return bins for you to use when the libraries are closed. Place the items in the bin, and check that they have deposited correctly before you go.
Videos and CDs should be placed in closed plastic bags if you are using the afterhours bin.
Overdue fines are charged, so please return items by the date due. Charges will be made for lost or damaged items.
See the Library's Fees and Fines for details.
You may renew most library materials once, provided the items are not reserved for another patron or the items are not overdue.
Renew materials in person, by phoning your local branch or Renew Online.
Overdue materials cannot be renewed by phone.
Phone Renewals: When you telephone, provide us with: your name and your library card barcode number.
