About the project

Latrobe City Council values your feedback and is extending an invitation to both community organisations and individuals to provide a submission in relation to the 2018-19 Draft Budget(PDF, 2MB)

Highlights and points to note:

  • General rates and municipal charge increase restricted to 2.25% in line with the State Government rate cap
  • Annual increase in garbage charges of $27 or 8.5% which includes $20 associated with the processing of recyclables resulting from the import ban implemented by the Chinese government
  • Commitment to deliver the same number and level of services
  • Completion of Northern Reserve Newborough drainage and lighting upgrade, construction of a pavilion at Traralgon’s Apex Park, Morwell Recreation Reserve and Traralgon South and the Traralgon to Morwell shared pathway  and Latrobe Synthetic Sports Field Pavilion, in Churchill
  • Progress of design of Latrobe Creative Precinct, Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre, Traralgon Sports Stadium

Submissions

Submissions are to be made in writing and will be received until 5pm, Wednesday 2 May.

If you would like to speak in support of your submission, nominate this on your submission form. Submissions will be heard at the Special Council Meeting at 6pm on Tuesday 15 May in the Nambur Wariga meeting room, at Corporate Headquarters, 141 Commercial Road Morwell.

The council will meet to adopt the budget at the Ordinary Council Meeting to be held at 6pm on Monday 4 June in the Nambur Wariga meeting room, at the Latrobe City Council Headquarters, 141 Commercial Road, Morwell.

Please note that if you choose to provide a submission your details will be a part of the 15 May Council Meeting Agenda, which is a public record. All submissions will therefore be considered a public document unless specified otherwise in your written submission. Your personal information will be used by Council for no other purposes.
