These workshops have been developed to help prospective and also current businesses grow.  The workshops will cover various areas of business which are essential for growth.

Tax Essentials for Small Business

Are you new to business, or thinking of starting a small business?

You’ll learn about:

  • business structures and their different rules, tax rates and obligations
  • tax and non-tax business registrations
  • allowable deductions, including motor vehicle deductions, depreciation and home-based business expenses
  • annual and quarterly reporting requirements
  • record keeping principles
  • where to go for help and information when you need it.

We will show you online tools and resources that can help you and you’ll have the chance to ask questions.

Record Keeping- GST Registered

This free 2 hour introductory workshop is for small businesses who:

want to learn how to keep records to claim all entitled deductions
are registered for GST or who are thinking of registering for GST.

At this event you will have hands-on experience of recording money in and out of your business. You will also learn how to calculate and record GST as well as time saving tips allowing you to focus on your business.

Facebook for Your Business

Not sure where to start when it comes to creating a social media presence for your business? Considering how social media can best meet your business goals? Learn the basics of what you need to know about Facebook marketing, the resources required to get started and a plan that you can action at this essential small business workshop. Delivered by an experienced small business social media practitioner, this essential Small Business Victoria workshop is one of many that have helped businesses in Victoria get started for more than 10 years.

Six Steps to Business Success - May Program

Have you recently started a business or are you planning to start one? The Six Steps to Success for your Small Business program is designed to provide you with the tools to build the foundations of a successful business. The workshops will be delivered each Wednesday night over a 6 week period. With a maximum of 15 participants the program provides an opportunity to develop your network and give your business the best opportunity starting out.

Traralgon – Free Business Mentoring Sessions

Free business mentoring and face-to-face assistance will be available on board the Small Business Bus. Delivered by an experienced professional mentor from the Small Business Mentoring Service (SBMS), free 45-minute sessions are available from 10am until 4pm and can be tailored to address the specific needs of your business. The on board mentor can help you to identify a clear direction for your business, discuss key issues and priorities, and develop an action plan to achieve your goals.

Small Business Victoria's mobile office will be located outside Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning from 10am to 4pm.
