Gus Balbontin, former Lonely Planet executive director, will speak in Traralgon this August as part of the Small Business Festival discussing his experience at the top of the world’s most loved travel company – Lonely Planet.

Gus presents in a unique way that leaves participants informed, entertained and inspired to take on the world. 

Originally from Argentina, Gus journeyed to Australia, secured a dream job with travel advisory company Lonely Planet and set about making Lonely Planet globally, every travellers point of reference.

The transformation of Lonely Planet was not without its challenges – people, technology, marketing, branding, all needed to keep up with an ever changing world and savvy traveller.

Gus is globally recognised for his influence in developing cutting edge products and technologies for companies including Google X, Nokia, Apple, and Amazon.
