Benchmarking program 2016

The DMTC has run a number of manufacturing and materials benchmarking projects around Australia in areas such as additive manufacturing, titanium machining and welding. The aim of these projects is to assist companies to improve productivity, engage with Defence Primes and understand their requirements for supply chain partners, work with experts from the research sector in leading edge manufacturing technologies and establish new commercial relationships with project partners. In previous benchmarking projects, companies who participated achieved productivity improvements of between 33% and 400%, received new orders through relationships established in the project and gained access to and understanding of new technologies, not possible through other means. The DMTC aims to run a benchmarking project in the Latrobe region in early 2016. Through this Workshop, the DMTC will explain the benefits to industry in participating in benchmarking projects and will invite local manufacturers to identify and discuss technical areas to potentially conduct a benchmarking project.

There is an opportunity for manufacturing businesses to participate in the benchmarking programme with DMTC scheduled for early 2016. Expressions of interest or for more information including a copy of the presentation please contact Shannan Little, Business Development Officer on 5128 5659 or
