Traralgon Indoor Sports Stadium

The Traralgon Indoor Sports Stadium will be redeveloped and expanded for multi-purpose use, allowing the centre to host large-scale events such as regional, national and international championships.

The existing indoor stadium and administration areas will be overhauled, including refurbishment of the show court and construction of additional courts for netball, basketball, badminton and other indoor sports.

What’s happening now?

Council is working with users of the existing venue to determine usage and what is required by each group in the upgraded facility so that the scope of the project can be finalised.

Opportunities for other fee-paying tenants are also being explored to ensure the facilities are utilised to their full potential.

A Project Reference Group (PRG) has been appointed including community representatives and user groups.

Matthew Addison has been appointed as the community representative on the 11-member PRG.

Mr Addison has developed strong community links over 25 years in local real estate, and helped establish the Latrobe City Business Tourism Association where he served as a board member for a decade.

He has a strong association with junior sport as the current president of TEDAS Junior Football Club, an umpire and a junior basketball and football coach.
Council has recently appointed a Project Manager to oversee the TSS redevelopment.
