We’ve got your ticket to having a WHALE of a time in Latrobe City in the lead up to the school holidays and beyond with these special family activities.

Latrobe City Libraries

Week of 25 March and 1 April

Storytime with a focus on the environment, whales and sea creatures plus craft activities using recycled materials.

Tuesday 9 April: Moe Library 10am to 11am and Traralgon Library 1pm to 2pm

Wednesday 10 April: Churchill Library 10am to 11am and Morwell Library 1pm to 2pm

Easter crafts at all libraries

A Whale’s Tale

Monday 8 April: 2pm and 6pm and Tuesday 9 April: 11am and 2pm

A whale is washed up on a beach and discovered by a child. How did it get there? Watch from the shore, or submerge yourself in the underwater playground as the spirit of the whale goes on a journey to find out what is wrong.

Art Cart in The Lane: Hello Future Self. Explores our impending augmented world as participants create an avatar.

Saturday 13 April
1pm to 2pm Slow Art
Take a slow tour of the gallery to focus on a few works. All ages.
2pm to 3pm Social Sketch Develop your drawing skills in a social setting within one of the gallery spaces. All ages.

Wednesday 17 April: 12noon to 2pm
Use recycled cardboard to make artworks in response to The Whale’s Tale. Parent supervision required.

Daily during the school holidays (bookings essential, 3 days’ notice required)
Walk and talk – guided tours for groups of 5+
