Preschool open day to highlight benefits of early education

Posted on 8 May 2018

All Latrobe City Preschools will host an open day on Tuesday 15 May from 3.30pm to 5pm. If your child turns four by 30 April 2019, they are able to attend preschool in 2019.

Latrobe City Council’s mayor, Councillor Darrell White, said enrolments were open now.

“If you are intending to enrol your child in preschool for next year, why not visit our centres on the open day? You can view the indoor and outdoor environments and talk with staff about the programs that are offered.

“One key to a successful start to your child’s early education is to ensure they are comfortable in their surroundings. Learning will then feel natural and fun. All Latrobe City Preschools offer quality educational programs delivered by qualified and experienced staff,” Cr White said.

“But please note session times or days or staffing will not be confirmed at the open day. Those details are provided at a later stage of the enrolment process.

“This year we are introducing a set enrolment closing date - 30 June. From now on, parents can enrol their child for the following year’s preschool at any time until that date. We are also requesting all enrolments are made online. If you need help to enrol your child you can contact our friendly Family Services Team on 1300 367 700 for help.

“The online system, introduced several years ago, has proven popular and is more efficient in terms of providing information quicker. Once you’ve completed the online form you will receive an automated email response advising you that we have received your application.

“It’s simple, efficient and allows us to concentrate on the delivery of a vibrant and fun-packed program of learning for your child,” Cr White said.
