Catalyst: Works on Paper from the Latrobe Regional Gallery Permanent Collection

Posted on 23 March 2018

Catalyst brings together a selection of works from Latrobe Regional Gallery’s permanent ‘works on paper’ collection.

Latrobe City Council’s arts director, Dr Mark Themann, said during LRG’s recent refurbishment the works on paper storage area received a much needed upgrade.

“This gave staff the opportunity to look upon the many ‘gems’ within the collection with fresh eyes creating somewhat of a ‘catalyst’ for this exhibition,” Dr Themann said.

Artists such as George Baldessin, Frank Hinder, John Bellany, Kees Hos and Tony Trembath are included in the exhibition that highlights practices from etchings to linocuts to lithographs.

“Curators are often challenged with providing access to works within permanent collections for visitors to experience and enjoy. We are pleased to present Catalyst as one such exhibition,” Dr Themann concluded.

Catalyst is showing in Gallery 5 until 29 April 2018
