Annual Community Satisfaction Survey to commence

Posted on 2 February 2018

An independent research company will soon commence calls seeking feedback regarding a range of Council functions as part of the local government community satisfaction survey.

Latrobe City mayor, Councillor Darrell White said each year, Council sought anonymous feedback from community members on a range of matters, including the provision of age care services and sealed roads.

“Council appreciates community members taking the time to participate,” Cr White said.

“This feedback is enormously valuable in assisting Council in reviewing and refining its affordable service delivery focus. I encourage everyone selected to participate to give us up to 20 minutes of their time to complete the survey.”

Latrobe City Council chief executive officer Gary Van Driel said calls would be made by National Field Services, commencing early February.

“Calls will cover a vast range of Council services and functions. Participants will be asked to rate our level of service and how important they believe these services to be,” Mr Van Driel said.

“Similar surveys will also be undertaken across Victorian councils in the coming months. The survey has been designed to assess the performance of the Latrobe City across a range of measures to identify ways to provide improvement or more effective service delivery to residents.”

Mr Van Driel assured participants that personal details and individual responses were confidential.

“The survey does not ask for any personal information such as banking details or computer security information,” he said.

“The most personal details the survey collects is information about where the community members lives. This is so we can make comparisons between townships to position us to better cater for the different priorities and preferences that exist across our city.

“Last year’s survey saw a lift in community satisfaction around customer service, sealed local roads, advocacy and community consultation.”
