The Latrobe City Council draft Council Plan 2013-2017 is now available to the community for public consultation until 12 June 2013. Councils are required under the Local Government Act 1989 to prepare a four year Council Plan by 30 June following an election.

The Victorian Government is proposing changes to the Tobacco Act and Latrobe City Council’s Healthy Together Latrobe team is urging the community to have a say. The changes aim to reduce the range of public areas where smoking is permitted, especially where children are present.

Planning Scheme Amendment C74 was adopted by Council on the 22 April 2013. The adopted Amendment will rezone a total of 20.99 ha of farming and township zoned land to residential 1 zone and applies the development plan overlay schedule 5.
