The Project Purpose:
The replacement of the Franklin Street Bridge is taking place in an effort to reduce the occurrence of the bridge flooding so that normal traffic routes via Franklin Street Bridge will remain operational during most flooding events. The new bridge road surface will be set approximately one meter higher than the bridge had been previously, the river bed has been widened and a more secure walkway will be constructed for pedestrians..
