  Community Safety

Levels of crime, violence, safety, injury and security are important aspects contributing to how safe we are as a community and the perception of how safe we feel living in Latrobe City.

Latrobe City participates in promoting safety for all and acknowledges that hazards, harm and fear of harm are significant concerns in our community. Our Council is an accredited member of the the World Health Organisation 'Safe Community' Network, a designation granted as a result of our success in reducing injury and promoting safety for all.

CRIME RATE

In 2006-07, the number of offiences recorded in Latrobe City decreased by 6.2%. 'Crimes against the Person' and 'Other Crime' decreased significantly while there was a moderate increase in 'Crimes against Property.' Statistics from Victoria Police are shown below.
