With a population of over 75,000 the vibrant and highly productive Latrobe Valley is located at the gateway to Gippsland in south-east Victoria. Latrobe City, Victoria’s fourth largest regional city is centrally located in eastern Victoria, approximately 135 kilometres (85 miles) east of Melbourne or around 70 minutes along the dual carriageway on the Princes Freeway.
The City has four major centres located at Churchill, Moe, Morwell, Traralgon, as well as a number of smaller outlying townships of Boolarra, Callignee, Driffield, Glengarry, Newborough, Toongabbie, Traralgon South, Tyers, Yallourn North and Yinnar. Latrobe City encompasses an area of some 1,422 square kilometres.

Based on data from the 2006 Census of Population and Housing (Australian Bureau of Statistics), each map is prepared using Census Collector Districts providing the finest level of detail to help identify spatial patterns and trends in the area.
