Council Plan 2011-2015
The Latrobe City Council Plan 2011-2015 has been developed in response to Latrobe 2026: The Community Vision for Latrobe Valley.
The community vision was generated after identifying three broad concepts shared by the Latrobe Valley community – Sustainability, Liveability and Leadership. A further nine objectives were identified as part of the Latrobe 2026 community vision to take Latrobe Valley forward. These objectives are Economy, Natural Environment, Built Environment, Our community, Culture, Recreation, Governance, Advocacy and Partnerships, and Regulation and Accountability.
The Council Plan 2011-2015 also identifies four key themes which link to the community’s
vision outlined in Latrobe 2026: The Community Vision for Latrobe Valley. The key themes are in response to range of local and nationally significant issues and emerging opportunities that were identified and which are recognised as set to influence the direction of employment, industry and shape Latrobe City’s future. The four key themes identified are Gippsland’s Regional City; Positioned for a Low Carbon Future; An active, connected and caring community; and Attract, retain, support.
The Council Plan 2011-2015 was adopted at a Special Meeting of Council, on Tuesday 14 June 2011.
